Picture Happy: Ho! Ho! Ho!

Crash Greer Myers

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is a regular feature of my life in photos. Most of the photos are taken and sent to my wife while she’s working as a flight attendant. It allows her keep tabs on her “little monkey,” see our father-son adventures and prove that I haven’t skimped on my Domestic CEO duties. This is the third post in a four-part series revolving around my wonderfully great Christmas and New Year’s.

After Santa carefully laid out The Boy’s gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve, I asked him bluntly: “Are you…er…we depriving our son?”

He gave me an “are you serious” look and responded with: “Ho! Ho! Ho!”

I knew exactly what he meant:

• We decided we’re not going to spoil Crash with tons and tons of gifts, and

• We want him to appreciate everything he has.

But as I laid in bed, anticipating sugar plums dancing in my head, I started to feel a little guilty again. I thought to myself, “One more gift wouldn’t have hurt The Boy one bit.”

The next morning, we did our thing – checked the stockings, saw what Santa brought and unwrapped our gifts.

Crash was excited about what he got, which helped suppress my false guilt.

By lunchtime, ALL my guilty thoughts were gone as I watched The Boy entertain himself with a zip lock bag and a spatula.

Ho! Ho! Ho!

I wanted to share ALL of our holiday adventures through this photo montage:

This was right after his show-stealing performance at the holiday concert.

CHRISTMAS MIRACLE?

You would have thought we told my parents that we were having another baby.
(We ARE, but the announcement about grandchild No. 5
actually came AFTER this holiday surprise.)

All the kids bought my folks a TV that they can actually see AND enjoy.

Merry Christmas to all of us!

Wait! There’s more…Click to see more photos
