Picture Happy: A Family Affair

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is a regular feature of my life in photos.

– – –

Before our daughter was born, my wife and I would say “I love you” in written correspondence with “TGM” – the initials of our son, Truett Greer Myers (better known as Crash.)

“Can you pick up the dry cleaning? TGM, Drew”

“On my way home. TGM, Tanya”

“Kiss my boy for me! TGM, Drew”

Of course, when we added Blessing No. 2 to our family – Ily Anabelle – we had to adjust on the move. NOW, we sign off with “TGM & Ily.” (We. Are. Geniuses.)

“When are you going to be home?!?!? TGM & Ily, Drew”

“I can’t WAIT to tell you what your son did today! TGM & Ily, Tanya”

You get the idea. A lot of the time, these six letters – which represent the essence of love in our family – are accompanied by a photo. I thought this would be a perfect way to re-launch my “Picture Happy” feature and formally introduce Ily Anabelle Myers to the blog-o-sphere.

BROTHERLY LOVE

When I saw this, I knew Team Myers was going to be wonderfully great.

SWEET & SOUR

I LOVE how Crash loves his sister,
but his little smirk in this picture scares the hell out of me.

NOTHING SAYS LOVE LIKE…

My photography-challenged wife took this amazing picture
and sent it to me while I was at work.
I immediately closed my computer, called it a day and headed home.

MY BOW HEAD

My wife likes texting me pictures like this,
because she KNOWS they scare the hell out of me.

BITTER BEER FACE

Sometimes there are cute photos of your kids – then there are these.

TUTU FOR THE SHOW

TK took Crash on an adventure, so I had to get Ily Belle dressed for the day.

Success?

I’d say so…I call this photo: “Happy Girl in a TuTu.”
